Living Hope Clinic is different in that it is a “Faith Based” clinic. Specifically, this means that we address problems of body, mind and spirit. Regarding the spirit, we ascribe to Christian beliefs about the spirit which are integrated into evidence based physical and psychological treatments. (We do not subscribe to any particular Christian church doctrine.)

What does that mean to you?
It might mean that we would ask, in addition to questions about your background and symptoms, what your values and ethics are or what the ethics and values are, or were, in your family and friends. That is because beliefs often lead to specific attitudes and actions, and actions can either be of support or injury to you or others. Beliefs, then, may have injured you or your beliefs may have injured others. So, if one believes that to “spare the rod” is to “spoil the child”, that might lead to excessive use of physical and verbal force on you or, perhaps, by you.

We might also ask what is your dream for your life. That is because we believe that people have an innate need for meaning and purpose in their lives. And we would like to know what is getting in the way of you actualizing your meaning and purpose so that we could come up with a treatment plan to remove these impediments.

On the mental side of things, assessment comes first and we get a thorough history about you and may give you psychological tests to help get a picture of your symptoms and personality.

After the assessment, we develop a treatment plan with you. Part of the treatment plan is to decide on which treatment to use

We use evidence based treatments like Cognitive Behavior Therapy, (CBT), to treat negative thinking or Gestalt Therapy or hypnotherapy to help address issues that may have unconscious roots.

So, in many ways, Living Hope Clinic practices are like many other clinics or hospitals. How we differ is to incorporate the assessment and treatment of spiritual issues.
